Instructions

  • Place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a saucepan.

  • Add enough water to the saucepan to cover the eggs by 1 inch.

  • Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Once the water is boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and cover with a lid very well.
  • Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 12 minutes, depending on your desired yolk consistency: 12 minutes for a completely set yolk
  • While the eggs are cooking, prepare a bowl of ice water.
  • After the desired cooking time, use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs to the bowl of ice water.
  • Allow the eggs to cool in the ice water for at least 1 minute so you can handle the egg, and then peel. Peeling under water can make the shells come off easier.
