Ingredients

For the Homemade Cherry Sauce:

  • 1 cup frozen dark cherries
  • 1 tbsp blue agave syrup
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice optional, enhances cherry flavor

For the Sago/Tapioca Pearls:

  • ½ cup small tapioca pearls or sago
  • 4 cups water for boiling

For the Creamy Base:

  • ½ cup evaporated milk
  • ¼ cup condensed milk adjust for sweetness
  • ½ cup milk of choice almond, oat, coconut, or regular milk

For Assembly & Toppings:

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • whole dark cherries for topping
  • boba balls optional
  • nata de coco optional

Instructions

Cook the Tapioca Pearls (or Sago)

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a small pot.

  • Add ½ cup tapioca pearls and cook according to package instructions (typically 10–15 minutes), stirring occasionally. Steep for 8 minutes until translucent.

Make the Homemade Cherry Sauce

  • Combine frozen dark cherries and blue agave syrup. Microwave for two minutes, or heat in a saucepan.

Prepare the Creamy Base

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, condensed milk, and your milk of choice until smooth.

Assemble the Drink

  • Put ice in serving glasses and add lots of cooked tapioca pearls. Add the creamy milk mixture.
